At Shivam Autotech we are proud to use the latest technology, since we want to deliver the best to our customers. Our Unique Selling Proposition is that we are among the few of India's auto-component manufacturers, who use Near Net Shape Technology.

Forging is the process of beating metal by compressing it and making it flow into the desired shape of tool or die geometry. Near Net Shape, the term, implies that the die so produced is as close to the final product as is possible, leading to marginal machining allowances and greater accuracy.

Advantages of Near Net Shape Forging
High Quality Product
Reduction in Energy Cost
Tremendous saving of material
Excellent surface finish
Higher Productivity

The process leads to stronger metal properties because of the compactness of grains and a parallel grain flow into the die, for the product. Thus, the resultant part is much more resistant to shocks and stresses.

Method of Forging at Shivam Autotech

Warm Forging: During the last few years, warm forging has become a development need, especially as it leads to higher cost reductions by near net shape applications. Since warm forging has greater formability of heated materials, it also has greater accuracy

The advantages accruing from warm forging are:
Cold Forging: This is the latest technique available. Forging is carried out at room temperature, thus eliminating the use of energy in any other form. The metal is strengthened so that subsequent heat treatments can often be done away with.

Specifically the following advantages of cold forging are apparent:

Reduced Energy Cost
Better Grain Structure
Better Surface Quality
Closer Tolerances
Marginal Machining Requirement

Increased Strength
Good Mechanical/ Physical Properties
Good surface finish and durability
Consistent and more precise tolerances and better grain structure.
